There no need to buy both sets of the mount plans. The drop mount is the same as the straight mount with the exception of having one more 8″ slide bar to allow it to drop.
Included in the download are tips that I have found helped me when I build them, parts list, hardware list, material list, detail drawing for each part that needs to be made, assembly drawing that guide you and show the major elements, also there is a link included in the notes section that will let you download the actual CAD file in the format of your choosing for the Double Swivel. With this CAD file you will be able to CNC machine the Double Swivel.
Tired of fighting the slop in square steel tube tool rests? I was too. One day at the metal store I noticed that aluminum extrusions fit together very snuggly. I bought some and built a slide mount for my jig. It was fantastic. I also did away with the set bolt that damages the slide over time and in my case has slipped on a few occasions causing me to have to stop and reset my positions and repair mismatch bevel lines. I make the clamps by ripping a groove down the center of a piece of 2 x 2 x 1/4 aluminum square tube using a non-ferrous blade on my table saw. Then I cut off the lengths I want. I also use a non-ferrous blade in my miter slide saw to cut the parts to size. Be sure you clamp the parts down on your miter saw because they will snag and go flying at dangerous speed. Also snagged parts tend to rip the teeth off of the saw blade ruining an expensive blade.
These plans are designed for welding many of the parts together. This is typically done using an AC TIG welding machine. If you took the cut parts to a welder it would be around $30.00 to $50.00 to weld the parts up.
If you find this style of mount interesting but are not sure how it will fit on your machine feel free to contact me and I will be glad to take a look at your machine and discuss or design one that will suit your needs.
