I designed this knife several years ago but never got around to making any. It was the centerpiece of my of one of my knife drawing tutorial videos BK Paladin Draw Along Video Click here. It has been one of the most popular of the free CAD download files for DIY projects by other knife makers.

Impressive piece. Well balanced. Sharp out of the box. I like that the handle scales are removable. The sheath fits well and is functional. I like the look of the blade tang extending proud of the handle scales – gives the knife a classy look. The G10 scales have a nice texture. The blade spine is also slightly crowned or beveled, which also contributes to the classy look and probably alleviates the potential of hot spots on the handle due to the proud tang. Overall, I am very pleased with my purchase.

The fit and finish of this blade is remarkable! I love the way the spine sits just a hair proud of the scales giving it both a classy look and comfortable grip. The satin finish is super clean and the saber grind is not only good looking but has great performance as well. Lastly I don’t know that I have ever gotten a blade with a factory edge as sharp as this knife! It’s really quite impressive how sharp it is and also how well it holds an edge. It’s a bit long for me to wear on my belt as an EDC but I’ve been using it every day at work pretty strenuously and it can take a beating as well. All around I’m really happy and quite impressed with the overall look, feel, and performance of this blade.

Awesome knife/tool. Got it to replace a Rat3 everyday carry for last several years. Sharpened away half the blade. This is a much more robust blade. I use it every day for far more than a “knife” should be used! The D2 is much better at holding an edge than the 1095 on the Rat. My only downside which really isn’t, is the blade length. It’s just a touch longer than I am used. If Belnap makes one a little shorter blade, I’ll buy the first one! Outstanding value on an everyday used knife. Happier than I thought I’d be.
